T.L. Osborn
American Evangelist

T.L. Osborn (1923–2013) was an American Pentecostal evangelist, author, and missionary known for his worldwide ministry in the second half of the 20th century. Born into poverty on a farm in Oklahoma, he experienced a spiritual calling at age 14 to become a preacher. After early missions to India and experiences that shaped his understanding of faith and healing, Osborn became a prominent figure in mass evangelism, hosting the television program Good News Today and authoring several books on Christian faith.
Early life and calling: Tommy Lee Osborn was born on December 23, 1923, on a farm near Pocasset, Oklahoma. He was one of 13 children, and the family faced hardship during the Depression years. At age 14, he had a transformative experience where he felt God’s presence and was called to be a preacher.
Missionary work and spiritual development: Osborn and his wife, Daisy, began their ministry as missionaries in India in 1945. This experience was a turning point, as it exposed them to other religions and challenged their approach to evangelism. They sought a deeper experience of divine healing after returning to the United States. This led to a powerful spiritual encounter with Jesus and an increased focus on miraculous healing in their ministry.
Mass evangelism and ministry: Osborn became known for his large-scale evangelistic crusades in over 100 countries. He founded the religious television program Good News Today and wrote numerous books, which helped spread his message globally. His ministry focused on reaching the masses with what he described as “miracle life” evangelism.
Later life and legacy: T.L. Osborn continued his ministry until his death on February 14, 2013. He is remembered as a significant figure in Pentecostal and charismatic Christianity, particularly for his emphasis on mass evangelism, divine healing, and a dynamic, non-religious faith. His son, Tommy Lee Osborn, Jr., also died at age 34.

Infuse The purpose of a spirit filled life is to demonstrate the supernatural power of our living God so that the unsaved multitudes will abandon their dead gods to call upon the name of the Lord and be delivered.
